Yes, dreams really do come true! On Sunday September 14, 2025, we launched my book, The Golden Daughter. And what a launch it was. All the tickets sold. All the books sold.

My deepest gratitude to the Canadian Museum of Immigration at Pier 21, for including me in their 'Canada's Storytellers' series, and offering the venue. It was so fitting, because my whole family stepped on Canadian soil for the first time at Pier 21.

Thank you to CEO, Marie Chapman, who delivered such wise words at the end for all of us to take way. And to Rebecca MacKenzie-Hopkins and Tatsu Watanabe for their fine work stick handling the details.
My deep gratitude to my family, nephew Krzysztof Zebrowski and his partner Siarhei Padsasonny, who travelled from Warsaw, Poland to attend this event. Krzysztof even got called up on stage to tell the audience how he began searching for me years before I even knew he existed.

A huge thank you to my talented, wise and dearest friend, Anna Maria Tremonti, for being the emcee. I was in such good hands with one of Canada’s top journalists steering the show.

Thank you Neil Everton, the most patient, wisest husband in the world. Without him, the emotional truths I found writing this book would have been unbearable.

And finally thank YOU, dear friends and strangers. I know some of you travelled from different parts of Nova Scotia, Toronto and PEI. You all came on a sunny Sunday afternoon to support me when I’m sure you could have been doing other things.

Together we launched The Golden Daughter. Somewhere in heaven my mother is smiling.
Thank you.
